I Have Part Of A Plan!
¡Increíble!
The one word to describe this week. Especially yesterday. Sunday was crazy and all over the place, but great. The reason for the title quote is because what we had planned fell through, but we were able to adjust, and it somehow worked out. All praise be to God.
It's been all over the place, especially as my time winds down both in San Benito and on the mission. This coming week is my last full week here in San Benito, so I’ve got to make the most of it.
We got a referral during the week for a guy named Ursulo. We had no address and couldn't consistently get in contact with him over the phone. We weren’t able to reach him but eventually spent an hour driving around the area he said he lived in and calling him, trying to find him. We eventually found him and set up a ride for him to come to church.
Come Sunday, we called, and he was up and getting ready for his ride to church. We got a call 15 minutes before church from the member who said he wasn’t sure if it was the right house and wasn’t able to pick him up. Our other friends unfortunately had things that got in their way. We were quite disappointed but weren’t going to throw in the towel that easily.
We decided we’d try to get Ursulo to the church service at 1:00. We booked it over to his house and confirmed with him that he still wanted to go. We went back to the church and found one of our recent converts, Christian (from my first transfer here in San Benito). He said he’d be willing to come and give him a ride to church. He followed us to Ursulo's house and picked him up.
It turned out to be worth all the effort because Ursulo loved it and wants to be baptized!
A follow-up miracle was that we met a returning member who lives in our area and her daughter, who wants to be baptized! We wouldn’t have been able to meet them if we hadn’t been at the 1:00 church service and if Ursulo hadn’t wanted to go to the Sunday school class. It truly was guided and meant to be.
That’s the story of how we went from 0 people at church to 2 super cool people at church. Do things always work out that way? Of course not. But I do know that as we’re patient and do all we can, God works miracles and allows us to be instruments in His hands.
Not much more comes to mind about this week, so enjoy some cool pictures I took.
