My Mama Says I'm Special
First and foremost, love ya, Ma. Thanks for always believing in me and helping me see my potential. Also, shout out and happy Mother's Day to all those moms out there—past, present, and future.
In other news, I'm in a new area: a border town called San Benito that's right outside of Harlingen. The coolest part is that there's a big resaca (waterway) that cuts through and snakes through the town. My companion says it makes for some good fishing. One of these days, we might just catch some catán (alligator gar).
It's weird being in a new place after so long in Edinburg, but that's how it is every time. Definitely different, but all in all, I'm excited to find, teach, and baptize on some new turf. I'm also glad to be off the bikes full time and have the option of using a car. We're still using the bikes, but having some AC at the end of the bike ride makes all the difference, especially with how hot it's getting. Summer is upon us.
Not much more to say, but I'd like to share one of my favorite scriptures with y'all. If I've shared it before, it's because it's really good.
"I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses." —Isaiah 63:7
As we turn to the Savior, we truly witness His goodness, mercy, and love towards us. I'm also so grateful to be an instrument in bringing that lovingkindness to those around me.
¡Les amo!
Catch y'all on the flip,
-Elder Teeples
Last week's email: "I find your lack of faith disturbing." Movie: Star Wars: A New Hope — Darth Vader says this right before force choking the admiral who questioned him.
