Amigos! We're All Amigos!
¿K onda?
Hope y’all had a most excelente week. This week was a pretty good one. All over the place, of course, but I gotta say it was great.
Our friend Damien came to church again this week and accepted a date to be baptized! He's really good friends with some of the youth in the ward and got invited to church last week. It's been really cool being able to meet with him and having his friends in the ward share their testimonies of the gospel and the blessings it brings.
We’ve also been able to work with our recent converts and help them prepare for the temple. It’s been awesome to see them preparing names and preparing to get the priesthood.
As for the email title this week, it’s because sometimes when we're out at night, people will either get intimidated or think we're a threat and go to release their dogs or grab something to defend themselves or their property. They chill out and are OK when they realize it's just the Jesus guys inviting everyone to church and spreading the word and that we are, in fact, amigos with everyone.
I got to go on an exchange to the YSA area this week, and it was pretty neat. Also got to go to institute with some of the friends they’re teaching. Really enjoyed it. If you can, I highly recommend going to institute.
In other news, I've been eating lots of good Mexican food and have been steadily putting on a bit of weight. Hard not to when they make really good food and then insist upon us getting large portions and then seconds and thirds. They say, "¡sin vergüenza!" or basically don’t hold back or be embarrassed. It’s kind of funny, though, because they're always insistent and concerned about us not starving. I promise I’m not.
Got to cut it short today. Thank you to everyone who emailed me. I’ll get back to y’all next week!
Remember, Jesus loves you!

Movie: Megamind – Metroman says this as he's talking to the crowd, and someone calls out, "I love you, Metroman!"
