On Your Left
If you all remember, a few weeks back I talked about a guy named Jesús who stopped on the side of the road as we were biking and wanted to know how he could meet with us. This past Saturday, Jesús was baptized! I'm really glad we were able to be in the right place at the right time so he actually was on our left.
As far as this week went, I'd say it went fairly well. Not quite as exciting as we were hoping, but despite the cold and some minor sickness, we were able to grind it out on the bikes and met some cool people who want to better their relationship with Jesus Christ!
Had a couple of friends pull up to church, and unfortunately, some others didn’t, so we've had to stop teaching them. All in all, I'm excited for those who made it, and I have faith that one day our other friends will be ready to make the effort to grow closer to our Savior.
Something that really stood out this week was when Abraham, one of the youth in the ward, came out with us for a couple of hours. I'll be honest, it wasn’t exactly the easiest of times. It was raining and cold, and a lot of the people we talked to weren’t open to the gospel and weren’t the nicest about it. Despite this, he was happy to be out there with us, and we were able to have a pretty good lesson with a family that had been taught in the past. We were able to teach them the example the Savior set, and the blessings that come from keeping the commandments. Abraham bore a super awesome testimony about the Book of Mormon. Definitely was great having him there with us and being able to help him prepare for his mission.
Not much more to say, but I know this is the greatest work on earth, and I'm happy to be part of it. Gracias por todos ustedes, hasta la próxima semana. A ver qué pasará.
