So Long, Partner

Right off the bat, we got some crazy news. I'm now in a trio, my area has quadrupled in size, and we technically have a car we can use now. You're probably wondering why; well, long story short, Elder Carver, one of the missionaries in my district, has to go home on health leave. It was real sad to see him go, even if he will be back out in a couple of transfers. But that's the reason for today's quote/title.

This leaves Elder Foltz without a companion, so he's come to join Elder Bodner and me as a trio, and we'll be working his area as well as our bike area. It's a bit of an awkward situation, but we can make it work for the last two weeks of the transfer.

This week was super cool because we were able to reset our friend Carol's baptismal date, and our friend Tamie accepted a baptismal date! Also, Tamie came to church, which is something she was nervous about doing with her kids. The members were super awesome and welcoming and have been a huge help with all our friends. It truly makes me appreciate the community and love that come through Christ and are shown in His Church.

Everything else that happened is kind of a blur, but I remember biking a lot, talking to a lot of people, hearing a good amount of "no thank you's" (eso sí que es, pero no me importa porque su tiempo vendrá), and feeling happy to be a missionary, even if it ain't easy.

In case you're wondering why this email is coming out a little late, it's because we've been moving Elder Foltz's stuff back into this apartment. It's all good, though, because I still had an epic p-day. We went to the beach as a zone, played spikeball, built a sandcastle/temple, and ate at the double-decker Whataburger by the bay. All in all, a good day.

Not much more to say or time to write it if I did, but I just wanted to let you all know how special and awesome you are. Not just because you're reading this email, but because you're a child of the living God, our Heavenly Father. He knows you, He's aware of you, and He loves you. A simple but powerful truth that I'm beyond grateful for. I feel like I've mentioned it before, and if I have, I'm not sorry, because it's awesome and you all deserve to know and be reminded of it.

Hope you have an excellent week, and as always, keep on keepin' on.

-Elder Teeples

Last week's email: This drink, I like it. Another! Movie: Thor -when they take Thor to the coffee shop, he throws the mug to the floor to request another one.
