Now, We Ride!

¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a todos!

Transfers happened, and now here I am in Edinburg, the city right above McAllen. To add some context to the title this week, I'm once again in a puro bike area. But it's OK because I got the temple in my area! (It's at the very bottom, and I likely will not be biking down there often, but hey, it's there.)

I'm done with the tech squad, and I'm no longer a social media leader, but I've got new responsibilities. I'm district leading, and I'm finishing the training of Elder Quinn, my new companion. A bit sad to have left Weslaco, Elder Longson, and even a little bit to leave the tech squad, but all in all, I'm happy to be here and excited for what the transfer holds!

So far, we've been on the find grind, which has meant lots of biking around, but also some cool little miracles.

One being that one day we left the apartment to do studies, but Elder Quinn forgot his phone. We finished up our studies and then biked back to the apartment to grab it. On our way there, this car honked to get our attention, pulled over, and the driver rolled down his window to ask us how he could meet with us! His name is Jesús, and he ended up coming to church on Sunday and is preparing to be baptized! Unfortunately, he lives one street above our area, so we had to refer him to the other Elders in the ward, but I'm still so excited for him and so glad we found him (or I guess he found us). Turns out he'd filled out a Facebook ad a little while ago and hadn't followed up, so when he saw us out biking, he knew he had to talk to us. So grateful to have been able to be in the right place at the right time—exactly where the Lord needed us.

The second milagro was on the day of transfers. We went to the grocery store, and on our way back to the car, we met a guy named Anthony who asked us what we do as missionaries and wants to come to church! He pulled up on Sunday with his friend/girlfriend Hannah, and they both really liked it! I was a little nervous because of fast and testimony meeting, but it all turned out great. They are also super interested in learning more about the Book of Mormon after the Sunday school lesson, and the members were super welcoming.

All in all, a super great first week (half-week, I guess) in the new area! The interesting thing is I was originally going to be transferred to Edinburg four transfers ago, but President felt I needed to be on the tech squad. Now that I'm finally here, it really seems like things are falling into place. I truly testify of the Lord's timing in everything and the opportunities He gives us exactly when we need them.

Love y'all and thanks again for all the holiday wishes!
