What's This? What's This?

Buenas noches, días!
Me llamo Elder Teeples, ¿y tú?

How are you all doing? Some may have noticed the unfortunate reality that I broke my email streak last week. Last week was relatively uneventful though, so I don't feel too bad about it, just definitely had to make sure to send one today.

Super random, but last week our apartment flooded. Our washer broke, kept filling, and before we knew it, there were 2 inches of water on the floor. After lots of mopping, a maintenance guy from the apartments, and a repair guy for the mission, we got it all figured out and our apartment is dry again.

It was an all-over-the-place kind of week, hence the title. Also because it's almost Christmas! (There's a hint for the movie it's from.)

It's been so amazing to have such a focus on the Savior and helping others come unto Him this Christmas season. It's really helped change my whole perspective on this time of year. Really remembering His birth, but also why He was born and what He did during His life.

As far as the work, things have been going pretty well! If you remember me talking about our friend Marisol, then the exciting news is that she's meeting with us again!

We met someone this week with the same name and thought we should reach out. When we did, she said she'd been praying for guidance and we texted right after she finished. She also reached out to some of the members from the ward and they've been helping her so much! She came to church on Sunday and bit by bit she's feeling more and more comfortable and ready to take that leap of faith.

We've also been teaching a young mom named Stephanie and her mom Angie. Stephanie has been progressing super well, came to church (even brought her kids and left them in nursery), and has accepted a date to be baptized! Angie has some bad anxiety and while she loves meeting with us and has a testimony of the restoration, she is too anxious to come to church.

Pray for Marisol, Stephanie, and Angie that they can all find the answers to their individual needs!

I've been reading through the book of Isaiah lately and despite it being a bit tough to understand sometimes, there's some awesome stuff in there. Wanted to share a scripture that really captures the importance of the Savior's coming and the Christmas season:
"He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation."
Isaiah 25:8-9

¡Les amo muchísimo y espero que tengan una feliz temporada navideña!

Hasta la próxima,

-Elder Teeples

Last week's email: "There are no accidents"
Movie: Kung-Fu Panda - Shifu and Po both insist that Oogway chose Po as the dragon warrior by accident, but this is Oogway's wise reply.
