God Bless Us, Everyone!

So much to say, not much time to say it, but first and foremost, Feliz Navidad y Dios nos bendiga a todos! This week was kind of crazy and different, but also such a blast. We were able to have some awesome lessons, including a couple with our friend Marisol, where we taught her about God's plan of salvation and the gospel of Jesus Christ. We really emphasized the spirit and how God truly has been leading her. More and more, she's been finding those answers she's been looking for. At the end of the second lesson, we prayed with her so she could know if she needed to be baptized. As we did, the spirit was so strong, and she began to cry. She told us she knew she needed to be baptized and wanted to, but wasn't sure if she was ready. We invited her to pray to know if she was, and she promised she would and would act on the answer she received. Please keep her in your prayers that she can recognize that answer when it comes. Secondly, we were able to teach our friend Stepha...

What's This? What's This?

Buenas noches, días! Me llamo Elder Teeples, ¿y tú? How are you all doing? Some may have noticed the unfortunate reality that I broke my email streak last week. Last week was relatively uneventful though, so I don't feel too bad about it, just definitely had to make sure to send one today. Super random, but last week our apartment flooded. Our washer broke, kept filling, and before we knew it, there were 2 inches of water on the floor. After lots of mopping, a maintenance guy from the apartments, and a repair guy for the mission, we got it all figured out and our apartment is dry again. It was an all-over-the-place kind of week, hence the title. Also because it's almost Christmas! (There's a hint for the movie it's from.) It's been so amazing to have such a focus on the Savior and helping others come unto Him this Christmas season. It's really helped change my whole perspective on this time of year. Really remembering His birth, but also why He was born and what...

There Are No Accidents

Let me start out by saying this week was pretty maravilloso. I quite enjoyed it and saw lots of little milagros. Way too many at the exact right time for them to have been accidents. The biggest miracle this week was that our friend Rodrigo got baptized! He's the 9-year-old younger brother of the four boys that just got baptized, and man was he ready and excited to get baptized! (We'd been thinking he might need another week to be ready, but he really made sure to be home so we could meet with him more, and his brothers helped teach him as well.) This week I also got to finally attend the temple in McAllen! It was my first time going to the temple in over a year, so it was such a special experience. Not only that, but I got to go twice this week! On Wednesday, with a couple of other zones of missionaries for an endowment session, and on Saturday for a ward trip to do baptisms with some recent converts. It was amazing to be back in the temple, be able to do ordinances in the McA...
