Thank You Chuck Norris
Happy late Thanksgiving! Hope y'all had a great one and recognized all you're grateful for, because there truly is so much to be thankful for in life. Even when times are tough, there are still so many blessings.
Crazy to think that exactly a year ago, the doctors cleared me to go out to the mission field. Crazy to think I've been in the field for a year now. Time has all but flown by.
This past week was a bit out of the ordinary, but I quite enjoyed it. We had a p-day on Thursday for Thanksgiving, and all the missionaries in the zone got together for a potluck Thanksgiving lunch. Some of the Elders started going around having everyone say what they're grateful for. The highlight of the day was when my trainee, Elder Longson, said, "I'm grateful for my father, Elder Teeples." It definitely reminded me how grateful I am for the opportunity to train him and for the things I've learned from him as well.
That night we also got to have Thanksgiving dinner with Ruby and her family. Ruby is the best and always spoils us by making the best food. It seriously was one of the best Thanksgiving meals I've ever had. I'll hold off on saying it was the best I've ever had because my mom's reading this, but suffice it to say it was sufficiently tasty as unto the tastiness of food.
We've been able to find some super cool people lately, and we've been helping them learn how they can find more peace and guidance in their lives through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm continually grateful for the joy that comes from testifying of our Savior and all that He does for us.
We've been working with Rodrigo, the 9-year-old brother of Dom, Jose, Armando, and William, and we're getting everything all prepared for him to get baptized on Saturday! The older boys also did their interviews to get the Aaronic priesthood, which is so exciting. I'm so proud of them already.
Estoy muy agradecido por ustedes. ¡Nunca olviden que Dios les ama y que yo les amo!
Hasta la próxima,
-Elder Teeples
