Back To Formula
It's been a very back-to-the-basics week, but it's been super awesome to see the results.
This week started out pretty cold (for here), and we didn't have our bikes back yet, so that was interesting. Also, my cold resistance is non-existent now, and even 50-60 degrees feels cold. It's back to warm for now, though, and we got our car back, so we're back to full power.
A lot of the people we'd been teaching haven't been progressing much or are busy right now, so we're taking a break from teaching them. It's a bit tough, but I know they'll be ready eventually.
With the whole back-to-formula approach, we've been able to focus more on finding new people who are ready right now for the gospel.
This week we got a referral from some of the other Elders for a girl they met named Marisol. She's been looking for a church and has been going through some loss. We were able to give her a church tour, and she said she was hopeful about coming to church. Fast forward to Sunday: she came and really enjoyed it. She even wrote down questions during sacrament and Sunday school. She's super ready to learn, and I'm excited to teach her more.
We also met a family this week and invited the parents to church. They gave a typical "I'm busy and I work on Sundays" response, but said they'd have their 4 boys go. We texted them the church information and didn't think much of it until Sunday morning when she texted a picture of all her boys ready for church, and they showed up! Definitely caught us by surprise, but it was super hype. The 4 boys—Dominic, Armando, Jose, and William (17, 15, 13, and 11)—liked church and said they'll be back next week! It's going to be super epic meeting with them during the week too.
Just wanted to share about how much peace the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into our lives. Elder Johnson of the Seventy shared a super awesome talk about this called Power to Overcome the Adversary.

It's one of my favorite talks, and I invite you all to read it this week. (Or I'll be sad.)
Here's a particular part that I love:
"My dear friends, please do not let anyone steal your happiness. Do not compare yourself to others. Please remember the loving words of the Savior: 'Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.'"
Love y'all, and remember, God is with you!
