Through Heaven's Eyes

First things first, general conference was pretty legendary. If you got the chance to watch it, you'll agree (and know what movie this week's title comes from). If you haven't watched it yet or missed some, I recommend it more than anything else. Especially President Nelson's talk. Life can be tough, but it's easier when we think celestial. Keeping that eternal perspective and looking at life through Heaven's eyes truly is a solution to all that holds us back or gets us down.

We were able to help a lot of our friends watch conference with us, and a lot of them really liked it! It was so cool to have them watch, especially our friends Jacob and Emma, who are on date to be baptized here soon. So excited for them and their desire to make that covenant with our Father in Heaven. It's been awesome working with them and seeing their progress.

In addition to the happy news of having General Conference, I've also hit one year of being a missionary! (Not including those two weeks in between the MTC and the field, but more on that later.) Day 1, I was in the MTC with Elder Kuzmic. Day 365, and I'm out in the field with Elder Kuzmic. Crazy how things work out. God is good! I've absolutely loved being a missionary, and looking at who I was a year ago compared to who I am now is amazing to see. Has it been hard? Of course! Does that make it any less rewarding? Definitely not. The opportunities to help others grow closer to Jesus Christ and deepen my relationship with Him make every trial, obstacle, and pain worth it. For those thinking about a mission (or even maybe sorta kind of considering), I recommend it with the fervor of my soul.

As well, you don't have to be a missionary to find the worth and value of trials. When things get hard, know that Jesus Christ is there for you and that His restored gospel can and will bring joy into your life, no matter what anyone else says or does.

I love you all, and I know God loves us and is aware of us. In the messages shared in General Conference, there was and is something just for you. Something God wants you to learn, know, and remember. Be sure to look for it. I know it's there.

¡Hasta la próxima!
