This Will Be A Day Long Remembered
As usual, this week was great, but this one was definitely extra great. I actually remember a lot of what happened, which means I can write a better email than normal (hopefully).
First things first, let's address the biggest thing and reason for the email title this week:
Elder Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles came to our mission and met with all of us at a big mission conference! It was such an amazing and spiritual experience. Definitely won't be forgetting it. He took the time to meet each one of us and shake each of our hands. It made me realize how individual the gospel is. The Savior ministered one by one, and I'm so grateful for prophets, apostles, and leaders who follow that example and do the same.
I also got to sing in a musical number for him, which was kind of nerve-wracking but also super awesome.
In other news, our car is in the auto body shop because someone sort of bumped our car a few weeks back, and the vehicle coordinator wanted to have the little dents fixed. This, unfortunately, means we've been biking all day for the past week, which has made it a bit tough to cover our area because we can't go to the far corners. Despite this, however, the work has been going phenomenally, and we're seeing miracles.
Our friend Jorge, one of the nicest old guys I've ever met, is on a baptismal date and is genuinely interested in being baptized. It might take him a bit more time, but he's progressing well and is loving coming to church.
Our friend Nathan, who came to church last week, also accepted a baptismal date! He said he's going to have some questions before he's ready, but we're ready to hit the ground running.
Lastly, we had a Sunday miracle where a girl named Aisha referred herself after seeing one of our Facebook ads. We immediately called her and invited her to church. She said she's really been looking for a church and has been wanting to get baptized! She came to church an hour later, absolutely loved it, and accepted a date to be baptized. She's young, but has had a hard life and is eager for a new start and the peace the gospel brings.
Jesus Christ truly is the source of peace in our lives and is the Good Shepherd. Always there to guide us through, rescue us, and bring us back when we're lost.
Espero que tengan una excelente semana!
