Not Bad Kid

News of the week is that our homie Noe got baptized! Super proud of that kid, and his family is so excited for him. It was a bit of a crazy time getting everything in place for his baptism, but the important thing is that it happened.

Another epic piece of news is that our friend Jacob accepted a date to be baptized! He had been taught in the past and absolutely loves meeting with the missionaries. We talked with him about General Conference, and he's so excited to watch it. When we explained how God speaks to us through prophets and apostles, he straight-up said, "So this would have to be Jesus Christ's church because it has a prophet and apostles to speak for Him." We were absolutely blown away by his understanding and faith; we're so hyped to help him work towards baptism.

Honestly, not a lot more to report for this week. Unfortunately, Emma and her family got strep throat this week and couldn't make it to church, but she's still elect, and I have faith she'll be baptized next month.

Our mission has the goal of baptizing 100 people in the month of October. With General Conference, the temple dedication, and another visit from a general authority, it's more than possible. #100ctober #Cientumbre #Spooky100

To close, I'd like to share 1 Thessalonians 5:17: "Pray without ceasing." Simple instructions, but a powerful invitation. As we keep the Lord close to us in prayer, whether verbally or in our hearts, we'll see His power and love in our lives. As we call on Him, He answers.

Last week's email: "Do I look like I speak Spanish?" Movie: Despicable Me – Gru asked the lady at the orphanage if she speaks Spanish, and after she says this line, he proceeds to insult her in Spanish (something I can hopefully avoid after the mission).
