There Is Too Much, Let Me Sum Up
¡Bueno bueno!
Hope you all had an excellent week!
Yet again, my phone refused to work today, so I wasn't able to send out my email until now. (I'm working on getting it fixed or replaced).
You might remember me talking about my friend Frank last week and how he's preparing to be baptized in a few weeks. Well, this Sunday, he made it to church and had a great time! I was a little nervous he wasn't going to make it. On his way to the church, he somehow ended up on the complete opposite side of town and got lost. (He was on Holly St. instead of Horne Rd. for some reason). Definitely a small miracle that he made it. It's been so awesome teaching Frank this week. He's just so ready to learn. He had some really good questions and insights, especially about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He already has such a cool testimony of the work of God.
Our other friend who came to church with us (who I may or may not have mentioned last week) is Santos! He's a happy, energetic little Mexican guy who absolutely loved coming to church. He was so happy to meet all the members and said he felt so good. We're working with Santos to help him get baptized, something that he really wants and is super excited for. He's not the fastest learner, and it's been a bit tougher to help him remember everything, but bit by bit, he's moving along and learning. At the pace he's learning, it may take a little longer than expected, but I have faith that he can be baptized soon.
Prayers up for Frank and Santos, they're doing all they can to work toward baptism.
The last thing I want to share is about a pattern I've seen in day-to-day missionary work. As I go through my day, there are many times that people aren't home, they don't keep appointments, they're not interested, they're rude or disrespectful—basically, things that make it more difficult. My experience has been that whenever these things begin to weigh me down, something happens that lifts my spirits, reminds me how important this work is, and how much our Heavenly Father loves us. Something as simple as a spirit-filled lesson, meeting someone with a genuine desire to learn, getting in contact with someone we haven't been able to before, or someone thanking us for our message or for being out here. In all of life's most difficult times, I know that Heavenly Father sends little miracles, tender mercies, and help our way. Never give up on the Lord because He will NEVER give up on you.
