This Drink, I Like It. Another!!

¿Qué onda vatos? Mis probados y verdaderos carnales. Thanks again for deciding to read my email. Even if you're just skimming it or glancing at it to see how I'm doing, making sure I'm surviving, and seeing what kind of crazy stuff happened.

This week was honestly awesome. Why? Because it was, and we made some new friends, had some friends come to church, and had some super epic lessons. Our friends Mike and Carol came to church with us this week. Ashley, unfortunately, couldn't make it because she was out of town taking care of her sister, but she's still awesome and ready to be baptized. We just gotta help her and her boyfriend get married first. Our friend Carol has been working on quitting smoking this week in order to be baptized, and our friend Mike loves the church and wants to be baptized; he just has some things to work out first. Please keep them in your prayers this week so that things can fall into place for all of them!

As well, there's the elephant in the room that I'm sure all other missionaries are talking about: the new Preach My Gospel! Trust me when I tell you, it goes hard, pops off, checks all the boxes, goes dummy, enlightens the soul. All of it. The new PMG app (R.I.P. area book) is awesome as well. We've been calling it PMGA (pronounced poomga).

The title/movie quote this week was chosen based on an... interesting experience I had this week. Still don't know how I feel about it. Don't worry, I'll share it with you so y'all can form your own opinions.
There we were, biking down the street, on our way to our next appointment and looking for people to talk to on the way. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a white truck start pulling up from behind us. I didn't think much of it. We're on the street after all, cars are gonna drive by us. The part I was not expecting was when, out of nowhere, a strawberry and cream Dr. Pepper came flying toward me and just barely missed my head. Right before that, I'd lowered my head a little bit to pedal a little harder. (Maybe some kind of God-given spidey sense.) Super glad I did so I didn't get decked in the head by a completely full Dr. Pepper. Don't know why they decided to throw it at me, especially since it's the new flavor and it was completely full, but it went to waste as it exploded on the sidewalk next to me. Once again, glad it didn't explode on my head. Maybe they thought I looked hot on the bike and decided to throw me one of the new DPs to help me cool off.

Another neat experience my companion and I had this week actually happened last night. We were biking back to the apartment after making a cool new friend who was interested in learning more. As we were biking home, Elder Bodner's bike chain locked up, and he went head over handlebars. I looked back just in time to watch him flip over the front of his bike. I hurried back to see that he was okay and help him up. He surprisingly wasn't too banged up and didn't have any serious injuries, which was tender mercy number one. We looked at his bike, and the chain was still locked up and wasn't going anywhere. A couple of guys came out of a dark alleyway (a bit spooky, but it was okay) and asked if he was alright. We told them yes, but that we couldn't get the chain unstuck. Without saying another word, they knelt down to look at it and help us. Within minutes, they'd gotten it unstuck for us. Tender mercy number two. Truly, God was looking out for us.

Not much more time, but I truly testify that God is always aware of us and our situations and is actively providing a way for us to get where He needs us and do what He needs us to do.
Just like Nephi said over 2,000 years ago: "...I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save He shall prepare a way for them..."
I testify and I know that that's still true and that it's true for each one of us. I know God loves and guides us; we just have to trust Him and do all we can.

Have a supa epic and awesome week!

Last week's email: Zardu Hasslefrau

Movie: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - Gamora remembers Starlord saying that growing up he used to tell the other kids that his dad was David Hasselhoff, but she can't quite remember the name and calls him Zardu Hasslefrau.

Did that for the email title the day after Father's Day because in the end, Starlord realizes that Yondu, his father figure, was basically David Hasselhoff (Zardu Hasslefrau) and appreciates all his "dad" did for him.
