2319! We Got A 2319!
In case you're wondering why I'm emailing today and/or why I didn't send out an email on Thursday, it's not because I forgot or because I'm not following the rules. This week, we had a General Authority visit and a mission tour. Elder Pieper of the Seventy and his wife came to the mission to meet us, give trainings, speak to us, and help us continue to learn new ways to help our friends learn of the gospel of Jesus Christ and listen to the Holy Ghost.
The title this week comes from the fact that I was asked to be a part of a quartet musical number at our in-person zone conference that Elder Pieper attended. It was definitely a little nerve-racking, but also very exciting, as it's something I've wanted the chance to do on the mission. The plan was to sing "Come Thou Fount," and that was the song we all practiced for the week leading up to it. When we got there to practice it together, we were told that "Come Thou Fount" had already been performed the day before at the zone conference that Elder Pieper attended. As a result, we were asked to change our song. We quickly picked "Ye Elders of Israel" (hymn number 319). We ran through the parts, came up with our action plan, and then had to go sit down for the conference. There was very little time for preparation, but I'm happy to report that it went very well. The Spirit helped us perform to the best of our abilities and testify of Christ through song. God truly helps and supports us, even in the little things.
As far as the work goes, Elder Bodner and I have continued to see blessings for our friends as they've found more happiness and success through the gospel. Our friend Ashley kept her word and came to church with us! Although she had a lot of questions throughout, she loved it and told us how amazing she felt and that she wanted to come every week. Unfortunately, our friend Tabitha wasn't able to make it this week and is going through a difficult home situation right now. However, I know that the Lord will help her in her trials and will find a way for her to accept and progress in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Last, but certainly not least, is our other friend named Ashlee. One day, we were leaving the apartment after lunch to go do our studies at a park nearby. As we were waiting to cross the street, a car pulled up next to us. Nothing really out of the ordinary, as they were simply crossing the street or turning as well. What we didn't expect was for her to roll down her window and say that she felt like she needed to talk to us and that she felt like God had led us to her. We were able to have a quick lesson on the spot, at the stop sign, and were able to truly testify of the truthfulness of our message and the love of her Heavenly Father. Since then, we've been able to call her and have maintained contact. She is so eager and ready to receive the gospel, and I'm so excited for the lesson we have with her tomorrow.
I know that God's plan is perfect and that He leads and guides us when we truly trust and put our faith in Him.
Love you all! Talk to you Monday.

Last week's email: "I love my mama!"
Movie: Wreck-it Ralph—when Ralph is trying to win the medal in the game Hero's Duty, the sergeant says, "It's make your mama proud time!" To which Ralph quickly yells out, "I love my mama!"

Some members this week took us to a restaurant called Fuddruckers. Besides the name sounding close to a bad word, I had the best burger I've ever eaten.
An unsuspecting study pic.

Crazy-looking cat.
