We Scare Because We Care
This week was sort of wacky. Last week, we met a guy named Stephen Jr., who is the son of an inactive member. He has been talking to us about the call to adventure and his experiences hunting monsters and dealing with the supernatural. We went by to visit him, and he told us about some abandoned mines nearby, a man-bat creature that lives there, and smoke wolves in the area. He’s called the area "Monster Valley." Needless to say, it’s been super fun talking to him.
Also, the title this week has to do with monsters purely because of Stephen.
Despite all the crazy monster conversations, he told us he wants more peace and direction in his life and wants to grow his relationship with Heavenly Father. We taught him about the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he accepted a date to be baptized! I’m so excited and happy for him and that he recognizes how the gospel will help him in his life.
This week, we also had the chance to help with a McAllen citywide cleanup with a whole ton of missionaries. It was super hype to see them all and to go out and serve the people of the city. Gotta love good old-fashioned service.
Not much more to say, but I hope you all have the chance to serve those around you this week as well. However you can, whether it’s big or small, I know as we serve others as Christ did, we can feel His love for them and for us.
Hasta luego!
Se quema, cuh.

Last week's email: "I don’t like sand"
Movie: Star Wars: Attack of the Clones – Anakin is talking to Padmé and tells her he doesn’t like sand because it’s coarse, rough, and gets everywhere. (Much like the mud we got stuck in last week.)
