Well Yes, But Actually No

I'm sure some of you are wondering, "Elder Teeples, are you feeling better this week?" To answer your question, I'd refer you to the title of this email.

I’ve got a kind of funny, kind of sad, and sort of gross story to share real quick. Toward the beginning of last week, I decided to wash my sheets and make my bed afterward. Of course, that was the night my body decided I was going to throw up. I guess my sheets just needed to be washed two nights in a row. After that, I went to the doctor, and they gave me some antibiotics—hopefully, they help.

Right now, you're probably thinking I had another rough week, but I'd actually have to disagree. This week genuinely went really well! If you remember, our friend Eduardo and his son Luiz were planning to be baptized this week, but Eduardo was having a tough time finding work. This week, we had a lesson with him and found out that he’s been able to find some work as a mechanic. Earlier in the week, we felt prompted to promise him that if he kept reading, praying, and coming to church, he’d find work. It really showed that God answers prayers. We ended up having to postpone their baptism to next week so that Luiz can be baptized too, but they’re both so ready and passed their mock interviews! Keep them in your prayers this week.

Elder Preece and I also had a super cool lesson with the familia Flores and were able to teach them all! It was really cool because we were driving by and felt like we needed to stop. During the lesson, I could truly feel the gift of tongues working through me as I was able to explain the Plan of Salvation and how it would bless their family. I opened my mouth and just spoke—the Lord gave me all the words.

Unfortunately, they were really sick on Sunday and couldn’t make it to church, but their friend Giovani from Honduras was there for the lesson and really wanted to be at church. So much so that he rode his bike three miles to get there! He absolutely loved it, and we could tell he felt the Spirit very strongly.

Hope you all enjoyed this slightly longer and more detailed email than usual. As always, I’d love to hear from you.

The mission office is 200 W La Vista Ave, McAllen, TX 78501, if you feel so inclined to send me a letter.

Que tengan una buena semana. Espero que recuerden que Jesucristo te ama!
