My Name Is C-3p0 And I Am Fluent In Over 5 Million Forms Of Communication (I'm Not C-3p0)

Hey everyone! Apparently, my p-day is still Friday, so I guess I'm sending another email already. I definitely thought it was going to be Wednesdays from now on, but oh well—it just means I get a p-day after only a couple of days. My first couple of days at the MTC have been pretty good! I've run into a good number of people I know, and it's been really fun to catch up. My district has been busy trying to learn Spanish, and so far, it's been OK. I know we'll get there, though. It's nice to know they're not just a simulation and I haven't been talking to computer programs. My first morning here, the elders in my district and I got up at 5:30 and went running. It may sound crazy, but it was so much fun and a great way to make sure I was actually awake. We saw a whole family of deer run past us, and it was super cool but spooked the senses out of me at first. It was a good time, but apparently too good, because we found out that it's technically against the rules to get up before 6:30. So I guess that puts an end to that. Today, I got to go to the temple with my district, and it was such an amazing time. The endowment session was nice, and afterward, it was so nice to just sit in the temple. While I was sitting there, I decided to pray, and then I had a super spiritual experience. I thought that since I had a lot to say and it was fairly complex, I'd just pray in English. I got a little bit into the prayer and then had a very distinct prompting to switch to Spanish. I switched immediately, and I was somehow able to say all that I needed to in Spanish. After I finished my prayer, I started reading the Book of Mormon in Spanish (El Libro de Mormón), and I understood what it was saying. I didn't understand every word, but I understood much more than I had before. I said another prayer fully in Spanish and again was astounded at how much I was able to say. I'm sure I messed up a bit, but I was able to remember so much and say more than I have in the past. I know that the gift of tongues is real and that God helps His children through difficult times if they turn to Him. May the Lord be with you, Elder Teeples
